What the Dickens?!
Pedal into the past with a unique interactive cycling experience that brings the world of Charles Dickens to life - only on the BoRo Beach Bike in Ryde!
Join our costumed Charles Dickens as he shares stories of his life and times, including anecdotes, readings and a few surprises along the way. Led by Kevin Wilson, founder and director of the Origins Theatre Company based in Ryde. You are sure to learn, be entertained and be left begging for more!
Pedal along the sea front with spectacular views of the Solent and Portsmouth (where Dickens was born and bred) and hear the story of one of the world's best-loved novelists. He visited the Island several times and wrote chapters of David Copperfield while staying in Bonchurch.
Rides leave from the WightLink Fastcat terminal on Ryde Pier head with an additional stop outside Ryde Superbowl in Eastern Gardens. Tickets cost £15 for all seats and will run at 09:30am on:
- Sunday 12th August,
- Thursday 23rd August
- Sunday 2nd September
